History of Photography

Photography has unlimited possibilities since it was invented in the early 1800s. The use of cameras has allowed the world to capture historical moments and reshape the way we see ourselves. As a means of visual communication along with expression. You need to understand the characteristics of the process. One of the most important characteristics is immediacy. The image that is recorded is formed by a lens in a camera. Exposure to light forms the image, the sensitive material undergoes changes in its structure, the negative is formed in the image, and the image becomes visible by development. With modern materials, the processing may take place immediately.

The essential elements of the image are usually established immediately during exposure. Characteristic are unique in photography and set apart from other ways of picture making. Understanding of photography’s supposed objectivity dominates all roles in the art. Photography is not the automatic process that is implied by the use of a camera. The camera usually limits the photographer to existing objects. The skilled photographer can and will be creative in the reproduction process.

The image can be modified by different lenses and filters. The type of sensitive material used to record the image is a further control, and the contrast between highlight and shadow. Changed by variations in development. In printing the photographer has a wide choice in the type of paper, the tonal contrast, and the image colour. They may also set up a completely artificial scene to photograph.

Oldest photographic portraits known, made by Joseph Draper of New York. In 1839-1840 of his sister, Dorothy Catherine Draper. The oldest surviving photo formed in a camera was created by Niepce in 1826. The box form camera Obscura was invented by Johann Zahn in 1685.

The first photograph was taken in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce. The photo was taken out the upstairs window in his estate. The photo was capture with heliography. The first color photo was taken by James Clerk Maxwell. It is considered the first durable color photograph. The inventor of the single lens reflex, Thomas Sutton, was the man who pressed the shutter button, but Maxwell is credited with the scientific process that made it possible. The image is of 3 color bows.
